Charity is a big part of life at Highlander. We don’t like to see ourselves as do-gooders, but a long time ago we realised the overwhelmingly positive impact charity could have both outside and inside our business. From our first small gestures donating technology, we’ve continued to expand our charitable work and upscale our efforts with the growth of our business.
We’re exceptionally proud of our roots in Yorkshire; the county and surrounding area has been good to us over the years, so we enjoy playing the fullest part in the local community and giving back by supporting as many initiatives as we can. Naturally, most of our charitable work occurs just a stone’s throw from our offices supporting smaller, local charities where we have found the impact we can make truly uplifting.
While we formally contribute a percentage of our profits to four local charities each year, we also support a host of other charities on an ad hoc basis through the donation of equipment and services, staff leave for good causes, and all sorts of charitable endeavours that are a result of Highlander’s staff-run Charity Committee.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice offers care and support to children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, both in their own homes and at their hospice in North Anston. They support the whole family, and give them the chance to relax, take a break, and have fun.Visit Charity
